New look for Llanelli Crematorium’s chapel
The chapel at Llanelli Crematorium has been given a new look following a programme of refurbishment work.
The modern chapel, which was especially designed to blend into its natural surroundings, is now even more warm and welcoming than it was before.
Local people are being invited to see it for themselves when the crematorium hosts a community open day on Saturday 27 September, 10am – 2pm.
The works that have taken place include internal and external redecoration, in addition to brand new carpets and flooring.
There are new chapel chairs, a new rise-and-fall lectern and new lighting.
New movable catafalque means that each family will be able to select the exact position for where their loved one’s coffin will rest during the service, whether that is in the window area offering long comforting views of the landscape beyond, nearer the mourners for extra closeness or in a designated area over which curtains can be gently closed during the committal.
